Moving records between collections

Move a record to another collection with its details, tags, notes and history intact.

“Collections” in Vinyl Crate Space means two things: your own Private collection, and, on Duet and Band plans, the household’s Shared collection. (For grouping records within a collection, use Crates instead.) Solo and free plans have a Private collection only, so there’s nothing to move between.

On a Duet or Band plan, here’s how a record lands in the right place:

  1. When you add it, choose Collection under Where it goes, then pick My Collection or Shared under Which collection.
  2. Already own it in the other collection? Add it again and the app offers to Move to Shared Collection or Move to My Collection instead of duplicating.
  3. From your wishlist, tap Move to Collection and choose where it lands.

Either way, the record keeps its details, tags, notes and listens.
