What happens if you go over your record limit
Your records are never deleted, but the collection goes read-only until you're back under the limit.
Every plan has a record limit: 30 on Free, and more on each paid plan. You can only go over it by arriving from above, when a plan gets smaller rather than when a collection gets bigger.
That happens if you cancel or downgrade, if a payment fails and the subscription lapses, or if you leave a shared plan carrying more records than your new Free plan holds.
Nothing is deleted. Ever.
This is the part worth saying plainly: we do not delete your records, and there’s no countdown after which we do. However far over the limit you are, every record, note, listen and rating stays exactly where it is, for as long as it takes you to sort it out.
What changes
Your collection goes read-only. You’ll see a banner in the app explaining where you stand.
You can still:
- Browse, search and filter everything you own
- Play back your listening history, notes and stats
- Delete records
- Change your plan
Paused until you’re back under the limit:
- Adding records, including to your wishlist
- Editing a record’s details
- Ratings, favourites, notes and logging listens
- Creating or changing locations, crates, genres and tags
Getting back to normal
Two ways out, and both take effect straight away:
- Upgrade to a plan that fits your collection. See Upgrading, downgrading or cancelling.
- Remove records yourself until you’re under the limit. Deleting still works while read-only, precisely so this is possible. See Removing a record from your collection.
The moment you’re back within the limit, everything unlocks on its own. There’s nothing to ask for and nothing to switch back on.
