When a photo doesn't match

Sometimes a photo comes back with the wrong release, or no match at all. It happens most with reissues, obscure pressings, or covers photographed in low light. Here’s how to land on the right one:

1. Check the list under Select your record, if the right release is there, tap it to confirm the details.
2. If it isn’t, scroll to Refine my search at the bottom and add the artist, title, year or label to narrow things down. Nothing matched at all? The same panel reads Try a different search.
3. Still no luck? Switch to Manual Entry and fill in what you know.

Don’t sweat getting every field perfect now, you can always come back and edit a record later.

For better photos next time: use decent lighting, hold the camera square to the cover, and if the record is in a plastic sleeve, slide it out or angle it to avoid glare.
