How cover photos work
Photo recognition identifies a release from its artwork and fills in the details.
Cover photos use photo recognition. You take a photo of an album cover, and the app identifies the release from the artwork, then fills in the details for you: artist, title, year and cover art.
If a record needs artwork, or the one it has isn’t the pressing you own, photograph your own copy: open the record and tap the camera button on the cover. See A record’s cover art looks wrong.
It’s built for speed at the shelf. A stack of new arrivals that would take an evening to type in can be catalogued in minutes.
Recognition is very good but not infallible, especially with reissues and unusual pressings, so the app always shows you the match before it saves. You confirm, and only then does the record land in your collection.

We don't use Discogs images. Discogs asks that artwork from its database isn't reused elsewhere, and we respect that, so no cover in your collection comes from there.
