Managing who can edit what
How editing works across your shared and private collections.
On Duet and Band plans, editing follows the collection, not who added a record.
- Shared collections are open to everyone on the plan: any member can add, edit or delete any record in a shared collection, whoever added it.
- A private collection belongs to one person. Everyone can see it and can rate and favourite its records, but only its owner can edit the details, genres, tags, storage locations and tracks, or delete anything.
Two things stay simple:
- Ratings and favourites are personal, they’re yours on any record you can see, and don’t change anyone else’s view.
- Crates are shared across the household, so everyone sees the same crates and their contents.
The only role distinction is the Owner, who also manages membership and billing; everyone else is a Member. See How shared collections work on Duet and Band plans for the full picture.
