How shared collections work on Duet and Band plans
How Duet and Band sharing works, and who can edit what.
Duet and Band plans are built for collections that belong to more than one person: couples, families, housemates, or a crew of friends. Duet covers two people, Band covers up to five.
The simplest way to think about editing: it follows the collection, not who added the record.
- A shared collection is genuinely shared. Everyone on the plan sees it, always in sync, and any member can add, edit or delete any record in it, no matter who added it.
- A member’s private collection is theirs to change. Everyone can still see it and can rate and favourite its records, but only its owner can edit the details, genres, tags, storage locations and tracks, or delete anything.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
- Ratings and favourites are always your own. On any record you can see, your rating and favourite are personal to you, they don’t change what anyone else sees.
- Crates are shared across the household. Everyone on the plan sees the same crates and the same records inside them, so a crate is a shared way to organise, not a private one.
